Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O'Gorman TD today announced the allocation of €1,500,000 in Dormant Accounts funding to 90 community and voluntary organisations. This represents an increase of over 110% or €800,000, and more than double the number of counselling, psychotherapy and therapeutic services are benefiting in 2024 compared to 2023.
The aim of the funding is to increase counselling and psychotherapy and other therapy types (play, drama, art and creative therapy, bereavement support) to children and young people who are socially/economically disadvantaged and who, without support, cannot access these services.
